How to become a Field Education Site

The students in the Master of Divinity (M.Div.) and Master in Religious Education (MARE) programs are required, as part of their program, to complete a year of Field Education in a ministry setting. Students can choose to use a site that has partnered with Andover Newton Theological School or one of the other schools that are part of the Boston Theological Institute (BTI) circle. Sites that partner with Andover Newton are also available to students from the other schools that are part of the BTI.

To partner with Andover Newton in the education of our students, please download the Field Education Site Application form and return it to the Field Education office. Included with the site application is a copy of our “Partners Document” that summarizes the expectations and responsibilities for the various partners to the field education experience. The director of the field education program will review the completed site. Once approved as a partner site, we will provide you with information that will allow you to create a login to our site information form, where you will create your site description that students will see when they are searching for a site.
