Journal Articles

Getting Started

Start by focusing on the ATLA Religion database for journal articles on religion. This database contains journal articles about Bible, Pastoral Care, Religious Education, Ethics and Social Justice, Preaching, Worship, World Religions, Interfaith Dialogue, Systematic Theology and Leadership. If you're new to the ATLA Religion database, grace comes in the form of a two minute tutorial - your salvation from frustration, aggravation and confusion.

Going Deeper

Click on the links to the left, for more articles from the deep web accessible to you through the library's subscriptions. You'll find general knowledge databases on just about every subject and a link to signing up for a Boston Public Library e-card.

Scholarly and Peer Reviewed articles

In the online databases, limit your search results to "Scholarly" or "Peer Reviewed" articles.

Print journals

Current print journals on Christianity, Theology, and Religion are available on level 1 of Trask. You may want to browse through the print collection, if you are trying to come up with a topic that people are currently writing on today.  Or you may want to read recent magazines and journals to stay current.  You will also use the print collection, when you already have a citation from a bibliography or a professor. Our journal collection is organized alphabetically by title.
