ANTS Community Day - March 29
On March 29 ANTS will hold a Community Day for students who are not in
classes. Regular classes will be held. Four members of the faculty,
Professors Greg Mobley, Sharon Thornton, Beth Nordbeck, and Dean Pazmino
will be leading teams of students into different sites off the hill for
a day of service and reflection. Sites include going to the Boston City
Mission and aiding in the revitalization of an inner city park in
Jamaica Plain.

Participants will gather at ANTS at approximately 11:00 a.m. for a
commissioning service, and then head to different sites. We will bring
a lunch, and have it while we are debriefed at the sites. The
debriefing will be followed by hands on service activities during the
afternoon. We will return to campus by 5 pm for dinner in the
cafeteria. At that time Rev. June Cooper from City Mission will join us
and help us unpack the day. Following the dinner conversation we
encourage people to attend the presentation on racism Kirk Jones is
offering at 6:30 that evening in the Peck Room.

In lieu of chapel on the 29th, students who are in classes and thus
cannot attend the Community Day are encouraged to go to chapel from 1-2
to pray for the teams that are off the hill. Everyone is invited to
regroup over dinner at 5 in the cafeteria. This year's Community Day
will serve as a pilot project for Community Days that are being planned
for both semesters next year. So participants will be asked for
feedback that will help us plan all-campus Community Days next year.

If you would like to participate this year, please contact me so I can
put your name on the list. We will need to insure that we have adequate
numbers for the teams to do the service projects, so we will need a
rough head count.

I hope many of you will participate in this important service and
learning opportunity.

Dr. Nancy Nienhuis
Dean of Students and Community Life

Lose a Car Key?
A car key has been turned into the housing office (Worcester 101). It
is on a key ring with a brown piece of leather and several grocery and
CVS type plastic tags. If this is your please retrieve it from Pilar
Rodriguez, extension 261.

Non-Violence Workshop - Saturday, March 11
Allie Perry is making this wonderful opportunity available to students,
staff and faculty outside the Non-violence Class with pre-registration.
The workshop will be held Saturday, March 11th from 9:30-3:30. Joanne
Sheehan will be training us in the practice of non-violence. This is a
perfect lead-in to Peace Week activities of which you will soon learn
more. You are asked to send an email to Allie ( or ) if you wish to participate and to bring food for
lunch and some to share.

Parting of the Ways SOLD OUT - March 5
The first lecture of Parting of the Ways this Sunday, March 5, is sold
out. Seats are still available for the remaining lectures.

Film and TV Fellowship - Sci-Fi Friday!
8:00 - Midnight
Sturtevant Hall

The Film and TV Fellowship cordially invites you to join us for a
"Sci-Fi Friday" movie night. We will be showing two classic sci-fi
films, Dino DeLaurentis' 1980 epic "Flash Gordon," and the 1979 Disney
classic "The Black Hole."

Bring some popcorn and your PJs and enjoy a fun evening! We'll have hot
chocolate on tap to warm you up. We hope to see you there.

Pizza and Peace
There is a Peace Fellowship meeting Friday 3/3 at 12:00 in Sturtevant -
pizza provided
We are exploring ways to network with the Working class/Poor
Fellowship and the Ecology Ministry since there are common concerns
in the area of peace and social justice.
