Cafeteria as Cooling Space
------------------------------------------
Hello Everyone,

We have decided to keep the cafeteria open as a cooling space through
the month of August. I hope that on days when your apartment is warm
this gives you a good space to go and get cool. The cafeteria will be
open until 10:00 p.m. Monday -Thursday, and until 6:00 p.m. on Fridays.

Hello Everyone,

You are cordially invited to join Housing Coordinator Amelia O'Dowd,
SA President Len hayward, and me for an evening of Shakespeare on the
Boston Common this Friday night at 8 pm. This event is free. So come
on down, bring a blanket/chairs, a picnic or whatever, and join us for a
delightful evening off the hill!

Len will meet anyone who wants to go by T at ANTS (in front of
Sturtevant) at 7:00 p.m. so you can go as a group. Amelia and I will
meet you down at the Common. If the weather looks problematic you can
call their weather hotline: (617) 532-1212 to see whether the
performance is on.

We hope to see many of you there on Friday,

Free Shakespeare on the Common

Notes from Director, Steven Maler, on The Taming of the Shrew
Free Tuesday- Sunday
July 22- August 13, 2006
Boston Common Parade Ground

Boston's North End. A blend of colors, smells, sounds and movement. A
bright sign illuminates 'Tistas restaurant calling the local clientele
as well as visitors to this bustling Italian-American neighborhood.
Sisters Katharina and Bianca help serve the customers of their
father's
restaurant each with their own distinctive character. Lovely Bianca
with
her many suitors aggravates her shrewish older sister who is the
terror
of the neighborhood. The tables turn (literally) when Katharina meets
her match in the loud and unruly Petruchio.

Designers John Coyne (set) and Clint Ramos (costumes) bring the 1950's
North End to the stage in Commonwealth Shakespeare Company's The
Taming
of the Shrew, from July 22nd - August 13th. This production, as Mr.
Ramos articulated during his design presentation is "a love letter to
Boston" complete with swing tunes and Italian arias.

The Taming of the Shrew will play Tuesdays-Saturdays at 8pm and
Sundays
at 7pm July 22- August 13. Come early, bring a picnic and a blanket
and
admire the best of Boston. Weather Hotline: (617) 532-1212
