2006 Shoebox Ministry for the Homeless
----------------------------------------------------
October 25 - Dec. 21

It's time to kick off the 3rd Annual ANTS Holiday Shoebox Ministry for the Homeless.
Oct 25 - Dec 21!

As you prepare your Holiday shoebox for the homeless pray and let the Spirit guide you in its preparation. Trust the Holy Spirit to guide your gift box to the right homeless person. A personal poem or a note written out of prayer and love to the unknown recipient can be life transforming for its recipient. Take some time to meditate and pray before you prepare you box. Use your non-rational being to prepare this gift for your fellow man, woman, or child who must suffer the indignity of life without a place to call home.

UCC 50th Anniversary Video Contest! - Nov. 1-30
--------------------------------------------------
Be a YouTube star! And win a free course at ANTS...

The United church of Christ is looking for home-made clips (no more than 30-60 seconds) to celebrate the UCC at 50. These videos will be shared on YouTube.

The most entertaining video entries will be included in a web-cast on November 5 (we've missed the deadline for this early web-cast), and shown at the General Synod in Hartford, CT next June.

Andover Newton wants to get in on the fun, so we are asking for entries from ANTS community members.

- The winning entry will become the "official" Andover Newton video clip for the UCC 50th Anniversary Celebration AND win a free course at ANTS.

- The winning entry and runners-up will be displayed on the Andover Newton web site.

Contest Dates: November 1 - November 30. All entries must be received by Monday, November 30 at Noon. The winner will be announced on December 15.

Join the weekly Peace Vigil on the quad every Wednesday at noon. This vigil will take place every Wednesday throughout the year as we take an hour of our time to stand in unity against various forms of injustice and violence in our world today. It’s a great opportunity to commune with each other and get a chance to hear what the Peace Fellowship is up to if you’re not able to make it to the meetings. Please feel free to bring scripture, poetry or a topic to discuss. Bring signs, songs and smiles.
