Important - Volunteers needed for Student Orientation

The Student Association is helping with the New Student Orientation on
Thursday, September 6th, through Saturday, September 8th. We are in need of
volunteers during all days. Please contact Len Hayward at LHayward@ants.edu
if you are interested.


All volunteers will get:

-The new SA T-Shirt to wear during Orientation
- Continental breakfast, lunch and dinner on Friday and Saturday
- Gas money to help with your travel expenses

We need volunteers to help with:

Thursday:

8:00 pm to Whenever = Ice Cream Social

Greet and chat with the new students and answer any questions. EAT ICE
CREAM!!

Friday:

-------

8:00 - 8:45 am = Welcome

Greet the new students and help them to feel at home. Answer any questions
they may have about Orientation, ANTS, faculty and administration, parking,
restrooms, number of carbs in the muffins.


8:15 - 8:45 am = Campus Tour

Help show where to find the Classrooms, Bookstore, Dining Hall, Dean of
Students' office, President's office, Meeting House, Wilson Chapel, Berkeley
Lounge, both Student Lounges, etc.


2:30 - 3:30 pm = SA sponsored Break

Help with the refreshments. Chat with the new students and answer any
questions.


6:15 pm = Dinner / SA Town Meeting

As part of the SA Town Meeting, hand out the new SA T-Shirts to the new
students.

After Town Meeting to Whenever = SA sponsored "Unwind Time" / Game Time

Help with the refreshments. Chat with the new students and answer any
questions. Bring your favorite indoor or outdoor game to play after dinner.

8:30 - 9:00 am = Welcome / Continental Breakfast

Say good morning to everyone. Chat with them and make them feel at home.


9:00 - 10:00 am = Concurrent Sessions

1) International Students Discussion: Give some insight and help to
international students.

2) Seminary and Parenting: Give tips and sympathy to parents who are also
students.

3) Life as an ANTS Commuter: Tell what life is like as a commuter. What can
be expected for traffic, parking, how to find resources near home.

4) Being a Spouse/Partner of an ANTS Student: Tips on how to help your
student survive seminary, tips on how students can help their
spouses/partners survive seminary.

5) Walk around Crystal Lake: Show a great place nearby to escape to.
