This year's Border Crossing trip will take place on the border between Mexico and the U.S. with a substantial part of our time being spent in Nogales, Mexico, a border town near Tucson, Arizona. The focus of this class and trip will be on immigration and the related issues of global economics and the militarization of the border. We shall study multiple perspectives on immigration and the popular resistance to oppression and violence as it relates to immigration. With immigration occupying the spotlight in public and political debate, it is more important than ever that US citizens and the church witness first hand a reality affected by our policies and lifestyles. We will be joining with the bi-national, non-profit organization of Borderlinks for our time at the border.

Approximate cost of two weeks, including airfare, $1500
