Please plan to join us for Community Day, Tuesday, March 31. Once
again we will be joining with the Hebrew College Rabbinical School. We
have many exciting sites(outdoor and indoor)--something for everyone so
email me today to sign up. We are hoping to raise money for the
Macedonia Church of God in Christ in Springfield, an African American
Church burned down the day Pres. Obama was elected. So if you can't
join us (or even if you can) I encourage you to send me a donation to
pass on to the church (even $5 makes a difference). Hope to see you all
on the 31st. Checks should be made out to the Macedonia Church of God
in Christ.

Jim Hinds *** Updated ***
------------------------
Please keep Frank Novo and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Frank's grandfather died on Saturday and he will be out of the office
Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday to attend the wake and services. I know
you join me in wishing him and his family well during this difficult
time.

Andover Newton Alum, Karen Hernandez-Andrews (2007), asks for your
prayers as she travels with a peace delegation from Christian Peacemaker
Teams to Israel/Palestine from March 17 - April 1, 2009. While there,
Karen will learn first hand about the efforts on the ground to end the
conflict, as well as working alongside permanent delegation members on
the many issues that Israeli's and Palestinians face every day. Karen
asks for continued prayers for safe travel, and safety and security for
all team members while they are in country.

On Saturday, March 21st at 2pm Johanna Tabor will be ordained to the
Sacred Order of Deacons in the Episcopal Diocese of Western
Massachusetts at Christ Church Cathedral, 37 Chestnut Street,

presence are welcome!

Mount Pleasant Nursing Home needs a group of volunteers to lead an
Easter Sunday service (April 12th) from 1PM-3PM. The service is usually

Seeking ANTS UCC Seminarian who Plays Guitar to Co-Lead Confirmation
Retreats *** Updated ***
------------------------
Might you be interested in helping facilitate confirmation retreats for
youth through the Massachusetts Conference of the United Church of
Christ? For the April 3-4 MACUCC confirmation retreat at Craigville,
the retreat is so big that we are having to split the group to do two
separate retreats. The current facilitators are hoping to get another
facilitator who plays guitar- otherwise one of the retreats will be
without music!

If you are a UCC seminarian, or know a UCC member who play the guitar
and enjoys youth work, please contact Matt Carriker at
mcarrike@hotmail.com for more information. We would welcome
facilitation help at the April confirmation retreat (a stipend is
provided), and if desired, at retreats in the upcoming 2009-2010 year as
well. The retreat help begins late Friday afternoon, and ends early
Saturday evening.

Interfaith dialog on Cape Cod for adults and youth, April 4th *** New
***
------------------------
Join religiously diverse young people across Cape Cod on April 4 to
serve the needs of the homeless, learn about the root causes of
homelessness and engage in an interfaith dialog to reflect on how our
faith traditions call us to serve others and work to improve the
situation of the disenfranchised. The event will be at the Federated
Church of Hyannis Fellowship Hall, 81 Willow Ave. For years the Youth
StreetReach program has been actively educating young people about
homeless and facilitating hospitality breakfasts in which these youths
can make a tangible impact as they serve their homeless neighbors on
Cape Cod. The morning will begin with the hospitality breakfast from
7am-10:30am, followed by an interfaith worship circle, and an interfaith
dialog from 11am-2pm. The interfaith dialog component will be grounded
in personal faith stories, religious texts and stories of faith heroes
such as Mahatma Gandhi, Abraham J. Heschel, Thich Nhat Hanh, Dorothy
Day, Badshah Khan, and Martin Luther King, Jr.. For more information,
contact Jennie Valentine at jennieval@comcast.net.
