Associate University Chaplain and Protestant Campus Minister

Position Title: Associate University Chaplain and Protestant Campus Minister

Job Description: The Protestant Campus Minister coordinates Protestant life on campus, including serving as pastor of University Church (the ecumenical Christian worshiping community on campus), collaborating and advising various campus Protestant Christian groups and supporting the spiritual and religious needs of the broader University community. The ministry of the chaplain will include conducting services, preaching, and organizing the various ministries within University Church and the Protestant Community as a whole.

Essential Functions: The Protestant Campus Minister will also work within Colgate's Office of the Chaplains, which is committed to offering leadership, personal assistance and advocacy for all of the university's religious communities. Currently the Protestant Campus Minister advises the Muslim Student Association and several other chaplaincy organizations and it is possible that the new chaplain will be expected to support multiple religious groups as well. The Protestant Campus Minister will work closely with both the Catholic and Jewish Chaplains to support religious and spiritual life on campus. The Protestant Campus Minister will report directly to the University Chaplain, a role currently held by the Catholic Chaplain. The Chaplaincy is part of the Dean of the College Division and candidates should be prepared to support the implementation of the educational vision of the college.

Qualifications:
(Education and Experience) Required: M.Div. or comparable degree, denominationally recognized ordination, and pastoral experience.
Additional Preferred Qualifications: Desirable: Experience in an ecumenical campus ministry setting.

The ideal candidate should be energetic and enthusiastic about working with students and staff from a wide-variety of religious backgrounds, and should be comfortable supporting the faith and practice of a diverse community. She/he should have strong oral, public and written communication skills; strong counseling skills; demonstrated commitment to and skill in fostering community and collaboration among diverse constituencies; administrative skills and strategic planning experience in an ecumenical context are preferred.

Minister/Director of Religious Education

North Community Church in Marshfield Hills, MA is seeking to hire a part-time Minister/Director of Religious Education (ordainable call) to direct the Sunday school and youth programs to start August 1, 2008. This person will work with the church’s Religious Education Team to recruit, train, supervise and support volunteer teachers in the Sunday school as well as the vacation bible school. Job Descripton: The First Congregational Church of Milford is seeking a part time Director of Christian Education to provide leadership, guidance and resources including curriculum recommendations for all aspects of Religious Education within the church.
The Candidate should be an enthusiastic person of faith with a love of working with children of all ages (Pre-K to High School) along with adults. This person will work as a part of a team, led by the Minister and serve as a liaison between the administrative aspects of the church and the Religious Ed. Committee.
Responsibilities include selecting and ordering curriculum (with th Minister and RE approval) for all Sunday School Programs, recruiting and training teachers, along with developing and implementing programs for the church's education and enrichment. The end of life can be a lonely and frightening time, or a time of reminiscence, joy and peace. You can make a difference in someone's life in an hour a week. We are a UU congregation and we're looking to hire a youth advisor and
coordinator.

Position Summary: The Youth Advisor/Coordinator works under the
supervision of the Director of Religious Education. The position is up
to 10 hours per week. Duties may include (but are not necessarily
limited to):

Coordinate the efforts of volunteer advisors and a team of other
members who support the work of our large, healthy and active high
school youth group.
Responsibilities include:
● Working with the Director of Religious Education and a team of
three or four other advisors, and a Youth/Adult committee to create
exciting, meaningful experiences for and with our teenagers.
● Finding opportunities and encouraging youth to become involved
in community service projects throughout the year.
● Attending Youth Adult Committee meetings and fund-raising
activities.
● Attending all and leading many Sunday evening youth group
meetings, and occasional events at other days and times.
● Co-facilitating at least one youth worship service annually.

Youth Activities Coordinator Position

Newton UCC church seeks energetic and enthusiastic person to coordinate and
facilitate both junior and senior high youth groups which meet on a
bi-weekly basis and to organize occasional worship services, both on
Sundays. Some flexible hours during the week and preparation for and
leading an annual mission trip also required. Opportunity to assist our
Christian Education Director in a variety of other worship and Sunday school
activities as well and to work with a committed CE Board. Interest in

Job Descripton: North Community Church (UCC), in Marshfield Hills, MA is seeking a person of deep faith with a passion for education to serve as a part-
time Acting Minister of Religious Education. This person (ordination not required) should have experience with junior high and high school Youth Ministry and program development, as well as
the skills necessary to administer the Church School program for elementary aged children. We have recently welcomed several new
families to our community, and have also overhauled our Church School program. We now use the Workshop Rotation Model of Sunday
School, with great success and with wild enthusiasm from our children and teachers. Our Confirmation and Youth Programs have
continued for many years in a steady fashion, but will benefit from someone with passion and skills specifically for working with Youth
(7th through 12th grade). Our congregation is currently in a time of growth and excitement as we seek a new settled pastor and as we add
this new ordainable-call position to our staff. This is an Acting position, but the person fulfilling it may continue as the settled Minister for RE once the new Senior Pastor is called and an
evaluation of the staffing is conducted. Salary will be commensurate with experience; benefits negotiable. This is a part- time position of 24 hours per week, eleven months of the year
