CYF Opportunities for UU Seminarians
One of the most exciting and revolutionary projects of Unitarian Universalism has just begun in the form of an online church and spiritual community. The Church of the Younger Fellowship is a specialty ministry effort between the Church of the Larger Fellowship and young adult UUs from around the globe. The CYF has nearly four hundred members representing four continents and offers many of us at Meadville Lombard the opportunity to help the CYF and our own ministries.
Currently, the CYF is seeking applicants for several volunteer positions ideally held by seminarians and young-adult ministers. The CYF is looking to create a chaplaincy team of several young adult seminarians who have completed at least one unit of CPE. CYF Chaplains would be charged with responding to pastoral care requests from CYF members via email. CYF members in need may also be referred to Chaplains and be asked to support discussion leaders as need arises.
The CYF is also interested in finding a young adult seminarian or minister who would be willing to lead a "New To UUism" discussion group. Resources and an existing course curriculum are available, as well as assistance in creating new topics relevant to young adults.
As the CYF is currently the fastest growing segment of any church in the UUA and is the most advanced utilization of technology for spiritual outreach throughout the denomination, these two positions are excellent opportunities for any aspiring minister's résumé. Don't miss the chance to become a part of the church that will eventually be taught in UU History in the next generation!
Time commitment is limited to several hours a month and most correspondence will occur via email and the http://uucyf.org website. Applicants must be between the ages of 18 * 35 and all chaplaincy applicants must have completed one unit of CPE. Please write to info@uucyf.org to see how you might contribute to this essential ministry and help others to "Keep the Faith."
As always, the CYF is looking for audio, video and text sermons to share with its membership: please write to info@uucyf.org to find out how you can publish your work.
I thank you for your time and consideration. Please contact me with any questions or contacts.
