Senior Pastor

Principal Function: Christ the King Presbyterian Church in East Boston is a church of Brazilian immigrants, therefore we would prefer candidates to also be either immigrants or first generation Brazilians. Portuguese language skills and Brazilian cultural knowledge are necessary. The Christ the King Senior Pastor leads the ministry in its mission of helping a community of believers discover and become devoted followers of Jesus Christ. This includes invitations to learn about Christ, finding ways to serve God, and reaching out to our community with God's love. Specific responsibilities are spelled out below. Purpose of Position: The Senior Pastor serves students directly and works with the ministry leaders to develop a cohesive vision and set of goals for the church. The Senior Pastor should conduct his ministry by preaching, teaching, and regularly visiting members of the church. Implementing and evaluating church activities is necessary part of this position.

Qualifications: 1) A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a call to church ministry. A leader with the character qualities, Christian lifestyle, and spiritual gifts described in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9. 2) Seminary education and at least five years relevant church experience 3) Leadership skills to recruit, train and guide leaders 4) A team orientation with the ability to communicate well and work collaboratively with all levels of leadership. Responsibilities: The Senior Pastor reports to the congregation and is responsible to submit plans and progress reports. This person relates closely with the Church Council and the PCA. This is a full-time salaried position.
