Seeks An ASSISTANT MINISTER
Coordinator of Youth & Family Ministries

The United Church of Christ in Keene, NH seeks a part-time (20
hours/week) Assistant Minister (ordained or ordainable), whose primary
responsibility will be to coordinate the church's ministry with
youth.

Responsibilities:

Administration of Youth Ministry Program

Recruit, train & supervise a team of lay advisors for each youth
organization & work with them to organize & implement plans & activities
for youth.

Make recommendations to the Sr. Minister & Board of Christian
Education regarding the make-up, themes & activities of present & future
youth organizations.

Provide regular communication with youth, advisors, parents & the wider
church about youth activities & events through email, letters, C.E.
meetings, newsletter articles, etc.

Work in conjunction with other program staff, Board of Deacons & Board
of Christian Education to develop & implement a new Confirmation
Program.

Serve as the primary teacher in the Confirmation Program with
assistance from staff members & lay advisors.

Plan, organize & lead retreats & mission trips for youth groups &
Confirmation Class.

Work with staff, boards & committees to schedule, organize & publicize
occasional programs & activities to enhance & strengthen family life
(families of all types), such as support, groups; parenting workshops;
family/intergenerational retreats, mission & service trips &/or camping
trips; speakers, workshops, etc.

Assist and/or supplement other clergy staff, especially in their
absence, in providing pastoral leadership to the congregation. This may
include but not be limited to:

Planning and/or leading worship

Responding to pastoral emergencies

Home/hospital visitation

Organizing and/or leading new study, support or fellowship groups

Crisis intervention and pastoral counseling, especially with families
of children and youth.

Perform the following tasks as needed & as the candidate's schedule
permits on a fee-for-service basis.

Funerals (honorariums paid by persons/families/funeral homes
involved).

Weddings (honorariums as listed in the church's Wedding
Information Booklet will be paid by the persons/families being
served & shall include premarital and wedding planning sessions.

Pastoral needs & emergencies in the absence of the Sr.
Minister (beyond the limits of the candidate's contract) at a rate
of $20/hour.
