The Director of Christian Education at Wollaston Congregational Church
UCC will work with the pastor and the congregation to grow and maintain
a Religious Education program. Although the main focus of this position
is with the children and youth of the church, there is also opportunity
to work with adults.

The CE Director's duties will include:

Recruit and train new Sunday school teachers
Based on the Rotation Model Curriculum, will schedule Sunday school
lessons and Teachers from C.E. Team
Organize regular C.E. Team Meetings and attend regular Worship Team
meetings
Work with Minister of Music to develop the children's music ministry
Oversee the Nursery, provider and youth volunteers in nursery
Schedule weekly Children's Message in worship with staff and lay
volunteers
Engage parents and families of the church in C.E. programs of the
church
Participate in portions of weekly Sunday worship as negotiated with
opportunity to preach if desired as negotiated with Pastor
Opportunities to develop and lead programs for adults, including but
not limited to Advent, Lent, Bible Study and Confirmation Classes for
both adults and youth
Opportunity to participate in writing grant proposals related to family
ministry
Assist in duties of Sunday School Superintendent, such as:
● Take steps to keep the church in compliance with "safe
church" policy, including CORI checks on adults working closely
with children

This person will be responsible for children and youth participation in
church life; and will assist with children's wider community events
planning. This person must have excellent organizational and
communication skills and the ability to work within a multi-staffed
church.

Duties of this position may be subject to change at the discretion of
the Pastor in consultation with the Christian Education Team and the
Church Council.

The Director of Christian Education will work 12-15 hours per week at a
weekly salary of $12.00 per hour beginning June 1, 2008. Two weeks paid
vacation per year are included.
