Job Descripton: Channing Unitarian Universalist Church in Rockland, Massachusetts seeks a dynamic preacher to preach in our pulpit two Sundays a month and on Christmas Eve, 21 Sundays in total. Must have a strong speaking voice and be able to deliver a consistently interesting and thoughtful sermon. The right candidate will be able to speak to a variety of religious perspectives using inclusive language and to accommodate traditional services such as Easter, Thanksgiving, Canvass Sunday, and Membership Sunday. Since our church is rich in children, the right candidate must relate well to children and be able offer a children's story during those Sundays when the young people are present in church. Must be able to remain after the service to socialize with the congregation during coffeehour. Pay is $200 a Sunday. If housing is needed, we do have an apartment on the premises and would be willing to explore the possibility of housing in exchange for additional services (for example, some pastoral care).
