Job Title: Director of Religious Education
Job Descripton: First Parish in Portland, Maine, Unitarian Universalist, a welcoming church in the heart of the city, seeks a Director of Religious Education (DRE) to start immediately. This is a 10-month contract position from mid-August through mid-June, 24 hours per week.

The DRE, in collaboration with the Religious Education Committee, is responsible for the design, implementation, and administration of the lifespan religious education program, which includes Sunday morning children and youth programs, social justice projects, and adult religious education course offerings. The DRE is important to the growth of membership in the church community and the spiritual development of families. First Parish serves a broad geographic area including the inner city and surrounding communities. This is a creative opportunity for a visionary person who is able to work with multiple constituent groups and collaborate effectively.

The candidate must have a BA/BS with experience or degree in a field related to education, human services, program management, and/or volunteer management. Sunday mornings are required although hours are flexible with some telecommuting possible. Some professional development funds are available.
