YOUTH MENTOR
St. Anne's in-the-Fields Episcopal Church, Lincoln, Massachusetts
Responsibilities
· With assistant rector,
o Help set up for, run, and clean up after the weekly Come As You Are
service (Sunday evening alternative worship service for youth and
young
families at St. Anne's). Preaching a monthly option for interested
applicants
o Set up 2 to 3 service activities for the Youth Group each semester
(one of
these could be a group activity with St. Stephen's youth, Boston)
o Plan and participate in Youth Group weekly dinner and activity after
Sunday evening Come as You Are service
o Attend, help plan and chaperone Youth Group overnights (maximum 2
per
year, one fall, one spring)
o Be jointly responsible with the whole adult leadership team to St.
Anne's
"Safe Church" policies
· Conduct one 30-45 minute check-in call/meeting each week with
assistant rector
· Help coordinate youth activities weekly via email
· Time commitment: 4:30-7:30 on Sunday evenings (Come as You Are
Service
takes place within this block from 5:30-6:10), other time TBD based on
mentor's
schedule
· Come as You Are and Youth Group will take place this coming Fall at
St. Anne's
on: September 20 and 27, October 4, 11, 18 and 25, November 1, 8, 15,
22 and
29, and December 6, 13 and 20. Mentor can select two of these as
"Sundays
off."
· Stipend for these Sundays is $1300, payable in two installments at
beginning and
end of term.
· St. Anne's is a thriving parish of about 200 families in Lincoln,
located just off
Route 2, about a 12-minute drive from Alewife Station. We count members
from
10 surrounding towns. Facilities are new.
· COME AS YOU ARE attendance ranges between 15 and 45 based on season;
youth group attendance averages 10-18 weekly.
· Position reports to Assistant Rector Patrick C. Ward; applicants
should contact
him directly.
· Affiliation with Episcopal church desirable but not required
