ministry as we celebrate our 60th summer of Christian camping. Our 2007
program runs from mid-June through mid-August. We are currently

Job Description

First Parish Universalist Church of Stoughton, MA, a small Unitarian Universalist congregation, is seeking an energetic, organized and enthusiastic religious educator to lead our Religious Education program. This is part-time position (5 units - approximately 15 hours a week, including most Sunday mornings and some evening meetings each month) that would start immediately.
Our Religious Education Program: Our church is a community of approximately 65 members. The Religious Education program has 25 registered children from nursery through ninth grade. During this year, an average of 15 children attended classes each week in pre-school through ninth grade.
Position Title: Director of Religious Education
Qualifications: Associate or Bachelors Degree or equivalent in education or related field. Commitment to UU Principles. Religious education leadership and/or teaching experience is preferred.
Reporting Structure: Director of Religious Education is employed by the Board of Trustees and reports to the Religious Education Committee.
Hours: Part-time -- approximately 15 hours per week. Includes most Sunday mornings and some evening meetings.
Goal. To provide professional leadership for the Religious Education Program. To provide plans for and support of volunteer teachers in offering meaningful educational, social, and worshipful experiences for children and youth of the Church (pre-school through ninth grade).
Responsibilities:
Develop the Religious Education Program for the church community in conjunction with the Religious Education Committee.
Administer the Religious Education Program.
Recruit, train and support teaching volunteers and mentors.
Promote the Religious Education Program by acting as liaison between Church School and Church community. Advocate for the needs of the children within the Church community.
Maintain a close relationship with parents and children through individual and joint meetings, telephone communications, etc.
Develop and hold programs that encourage total family participation, including those that open the church beyond our own Congregation. Coordinate the participation of the children in Church-wide programs and activities.
Create and conduct bi-weekly Children's Chapel services that are timely and age appropriate. Collaborate with the minister in planning and conducting intergenerational worship programs.
Evaluate, select, and/or modify existing materials and curricula for the Religious Education Program. Develop supplementary materials and curricula as needed.
Teach classes in the Religious Education Program as appropriate.
Participate in district and denominational Religious Education activities and conferences to gain insight into new curricula, ideas, and programs and to further enhance professional development.

Salary: $7,500 to $9,000

minimum of a Masters of Divinity and Theology: several years of
experience to
lead a more mature congregation; and who can preach excellent sermons

DIRECTOR FOR YOUTH MINISTRY, Lutheran

SEEKING A DIRECTOR FOR YOUTH MINISTRY
Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church, Salem NH, is seeking a caring and
qualified adult to guide our youth to grow in faith, service, and
knowledge
of Jesus Christ and God's grace.

We would like our new director to have a mature faith in Jesus Christ
and a
basic understanding and agreement with Lutheran theology. The Director
will
plan, organize, and lead youth events and activities for our
congregation.
Our youth group includes youth in 6th - 12th grade with approximately
20
participating on a regular basis. We are looking for a leader who will
not
only maintain the current program, but will have the ability and vision
to
build upon the foundation, increase participation, and find new ways
to
reach out to our youth.

The ideal candidate has experience working with youth, holds a
Bachelor's
degree or equivalent life experience, and is accustomed to working
with
churches.

This is a part-time position, averaging 20 hours per week. The work
schedule will fluctuate due to the timing of various events and
activities.
