A paid Sunday School Teacher is needed for a bright, energetic small group of pre-K*elementary-school age children at Old Cambridge Baptist Church (OCBC), a progressive and inclusive Christian community in the American Baptist tradition, located in Harvard Square, Cambridge. This position is available from mid-May 2007. OCBC is deeply involved in ministries related to social justice, the spiritual life, and the arts. We are a small, diverse and welcoming community actively advocating for the civil and ecclesiastical rights of all God's people, regardless of race, gender, sexual or affectional orientation. Our children are bright and loving, and will bless whomever works with them. We are using a well-designed Bible focused multi-age curriculum that has good leader's materials.

The position will be supervised by the chair of the Christian Education Committee. An expanded position can qualify for the Harvard Divinity School Field Experience Program, and, if applicable, would be jointly supervised by OCBC's pastor, Rev. Irv Cummings, a certified Harvard Field Education Instructor.

Position Description

POSITION TITLE: Family and Youth Education Coordinator

POSITION GOAL: To provide overall leadership in the educational ministry; including guidance and resources for all aspects of education for children's ministries and/or in the church school. Maintaining and enhancing an ongoing Religious Education program for children and youth.

RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY: Administratively, the coordinator is responsible to the Senior Pastor. Programmatically, the Coordinator is responsible to the Christian Education Committee. The duties and responsibilities of this position will be split evenly between Family Christian Education and Youth activities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to church school, middle school youth group, senior high youth group, occasional special services, coordinating Christian Education activities, serving as faith development resource and regular preaching and worship leadership opportunities. The Coordinator will provide nurture and guidance for the educational programs of the Church including curriculum selection and professional development of Christian Education teachers and advisors.

QUALIFICATIONS

Personal: Highly motivated, well organized, mature individual with good communication skills and a commitment to the Christian faith. Must be enthusiastic and optimistic about educational ministry.

Professional: Applicant must be pursuing a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Theological Education; preferably specializing in Christian Education or possess certification in Christian Education ministries. Studies should include Theology, Biblical Studies, Human Development, Faith Formation and Educational Theory.

Experience: Preferably, 12 months experience in Christian Youth ministries.

Time requirements: 20 hours per week.

Currently, we are seeking an inspirational leader to coordinate the capital campaign for rebuilding our historic church that was gutted by fire in January 2005. Responsibilities:
§ Lead in the organization and facilitation of an ambitious fundraising campaign in a manner that is consistent with our values and vision. Recommend traditional and creative strategies for effective and efficient campaign. Represent FBCJP in a welcoming and professional manner.
§ Work closely with Pastor, Campaign Committee and office staff to ensure timely communication between the campaign and the construction project, as well as unity of vision and message. Keep focus on campaign priorities, benchmarks and timeline.
§ Produce internal and external campaign materials to include brochures, newsletters, press releases and updates/reports.
§ Serve as primary contact for volunteers. Provide volunteers with training and guidance, materials and administrative support to successfully reach set goals. Accompany volunteers and participate in cultivation meetings and solicitations of significance as needed.
§ Monitor campaign progress, support Campaign Committee, attend and arrange details of all committee meetings.
§ Oversee creation and management of donor database and timely donor acknowledgements.
§ Plan and implement fundraising events; including the campaign kick-off, and other events of various sizes. Provide follow up as necessary.
§ Write grant proposals and conduct prospect research in order to identify all potential donors.
§ Assist in creation of campaign budget and track/monitor expenses.
§ Oversee accurate and timely production of financial reports. Ensure procedures and systems for communicating campaign pledge and gift data to church office.
§ Other duties as needed.

Qualifications:
§ BA/BS degree, and 2-3 years of successful development experience (capital campaign experience preferred).
§ Ability to assume leadership role, work independently, prioritize and consistently meet deadlines.
§ Ability to embrace and affirm the mission of the church.
§ Excellent computer skills and thorough knowledge of development database systems.
§ Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills.
§ Managerial and organizational skills to ensure the effective and efficient use of personnel and other resources. A superior attention to detail is essential. Demonstrated event management experience.
§ Extraordinary leadership and interpersonal skills to interact with a broad range of donors, volunteers, staff and the general public. Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours for campaign meetings and events.
§ Demonstrated ability to exercise excellent judgment, diplomacy, confidentiality and sensitivity to a range of constituents.

Full Time preferable, Part Time negotiable. Duration to depend on campaign needs. Salary commensurate with skills and experience. No benefits available.

Seafarer's Friend is a maritime ministry which has been serving seafarers in New England for 180 years. We are seeking an ordained minister or a seminarian working toward ordination, to serve as part-time (20 hours) Chaplain for the Port of Portland, Maine.

The Chaplain serves working people from foreign countries at their workplace, onboard cargo ships and tankers in the Portland, Maine. In one day, our Chaplain may visit crew members form the Philippines, Korea, Ukraine, India or China. The ability to work with people of many cultures, nationalities, and religions is essential. The Chaplain may also be available to minister to others working on the waterfront such as security guards and terminal operators. From June-October the Chaplain will also work at our Seafarer's Center welcoming crew members from Cruise ships when docked.

Training and supervision will be provided by our Mission Director. Flexible hours include weekends and evenings. As ship visiting is the primary responsibility, applicants must be able to climb gangways while carrying a backpack.

Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church, Salem NH, is seeking a caring and
qualified adult to guide our youth to grow in faith, service, and
knowledge of Jesus Christ and God's grace.
We would like our new director to have a mature faith in Jesus Christ
and a basic understanding and agreement with Lutheran theology. The
Director will plan, organize, and lead youth events and activities for
our congregation. Our youth group includes youth in 6th - 12th grade

The First Congregational Church of Mansfield, Ohio, is seeking a recent
seminary graduate to join our pastoral staff full-time. The successful
candidate will participate in a well-rounded ministry with a
theologically diverse and open congregation of 800 plus members. Areas
of focus shall include youth development, leadership in the worship
service, preaching, pastoral care, and service as staff liaison to

Youth Minister

Youth Minister

Healthy and fun church in beach town 35 miles south of Boston is
seeking a youth minister to lead the youth group 7th-12th grades in
spiritual growth, social justice awareness, group building activities,
annual mission trip, periodic retreats, and outings.
The youth minister teaches confirmation classes (7-9th), leads in
weekly worship and preaches (if so desired) bimonthly. The hours are
10-15hours per week on Sundays unless there is a special retreat/event
and e-mail's, planning, or phone calls can occur off site during the
