Interfaith Youth Core is expanding its executive team which provides leadership to this quickly growing organization. IFYC seeks a Director of Outreach, Education and Training who will be a key contributor in designing and delivering impactful interfaith youth programming to engage youth-focused institutions. The successful candidate will be a knowledgeable and respected voice on matters of religion and interfaith youth work. A Bachelor's degree, in Religion or other related field, is required; an MDiv or PhD is strongly preferred. S/he will be an innovative, dynamic and highly skilled professional with experience leading interfaith youth, preferably on a college/university campus. Additionally, s/he will be committed to the mission of IFYC with an ability to contribute both organizationally and substantively to the programmatic and strategic priorities of the organization. A demonstrated ability to develop and deliver educational and curricular materials of a high qual!
ity and to train and mentor staff to do the same, is required. Youth Minister

Healthy and fun church in beach town 35 miles south of Boston is
seeking a youth minister to lead the youth group 7th-12th grades in
spiritual growth, social justice awareness, group building activities,
annual mission trip, periodic retreats, and outings.
The youth minister teaches confirmation classes (7-9th), leads in

ABC Summer Camp Staff

Camp Oceanwood (Ocean Park, Maine) and Camp Grotonwood (Groton,
Massachusetts) are Christian summer cams owned and operated by the
American
Baptist Churches of Massachusetts. The camps offer a variety of
programs
for all ages including youth, families, and adults with special needs.
The
camps still have several positions available for Summer 2007 with the
greatest need being male counseling staff (those 18 yrs or over).
Male
counselors are paid $2,600 plus housing and food for a ten week
camping
season (bonus available for completion of the full season). In
addition,
Camp Oceanwood is looking for an office assistant, assistant cook, and

My name is Waetie Kumahia, and I am a recruiter for Bell (Building
Educated Leaders for Life), a six week summer program that works to
inspire and challenge urban youth in grades K-6. We are currently hiring
Summer Enrichment Teachers and Assistant Teachers to work at our four,
train accessible, Boston locations.

The dates are July 9-August 17 and the teaching stipend is $3,500 for
enrichment teachers and $3000 for assistant teachers. Enrichment
teachers will design a course that would be coached or taught three
times, with your work day extending from 12:45pm to 4:15pm. Some of the
past enrichment courses have included: soccer, African dance, and
science experiment lab, but given your various experiences as youth
leaders, artists, and musicians, we are open to your areas of expertise.
Assistant teachers, on the other hand, work from 8:15- 4:15, and serve
as collaborators with the Enrichment teachers and the Academic teachers
(who work from 8:15- 12:15).

The First Baptist Church of West Hartford, Connecticut, is seeking an Associate Minister for Christian Formation, Spiritual Development and Church Growth. The Associate Minister will work in a team relationship with the Senior Minister, music ministry staff , and the lay leadership of the congregation. This person will be asked to exercise leadership in Christian education, spiritual development and church growth. This is a full-time position.

Specific Responsibilities

Be primary resource person for the Sunday morning k-5 program, Faith By Connections, the Rotation Model of educational ministry.
Work with and coordinate the youth ministries, recruiting, training and working with adult leaders.
Work with Adult Education committee, Deacons and other lay leaders in development and coordination of small group ministries.
Work with Growth and Outreach committee to develop strategies for church growth, enhance the welcome and hospitality of the congregation for newcomers, and develop and help facilitate methods of newcomer incorporation into the church community.
Coordinate Children's Time (Children's sermon) in Sunday morning worship.
Participate in the leadership of Sunday morning worship, preaching to be negotiated depending on desires of the individual in cooperation with Senior Minister.

General Responsibilities

Devote a portion of time to leadership in the local community and in denominational life as part of the church's mission understanding and commitment.
Seek ways to deepen the spiritual life of the congregation and to multiply the ministries of the congregation as we seek to serve the world God so loves.

Convene the weekly "Vespers" Service.

Vespers is a unique Wesleyan tradition for students from any or no religion background to create a different ritual each week that addresses the immediate concerns in our lives and the world. A casual, relaxing, hands-on spiritual gathering with flowers for all and a vegetarian meal. Vespers meets on Wednesday at 5:30pm
The intern and student leaders will alternate leading the 30 minute service. The service is always varied but consists of: an opening reflection or meditation, a ritual often involving an art project, and a closing "check in" where students can share and reflect.

*Connecting with the Vespers Community

The intern with the support of the Director of Spiritual and Religious Life (DSRL) will be a resource to the Vespers community, by being available for conversation, mentoring, counseling and teaching.

*Social Justice Programming (optional)

The intern with the support of the DSRL will plan 1-2 volunteer/social service opportunities for the different religious groups at Wesleyan university.

*Other/Intern Initiated Projects
The internship has broad flexibility and could be customized to fit an intern's interests.
Wesleyan University has a broad array of spiritual and religious communities. The intern would be able to learn and develop programming based on his/her interests and talents.

ABCCR Executive Minister

ABCCR Executive Minister Portfolio:

Aggressively promote and lead the region in its vision and mission; Be responsible for implementing the policies and objectives adopted by the Board of Directors;

In accordance with recommendations from the ABCCR Board of Directors work with the ministry staff and the various area representatives to determine how the needs of the local churches and pastors can best be met;

Assist the ministry staff in intentionally evaluating their giftedness and determining the areas of most effective service and then assign staff to those responsibilities which will best implement the policies and programs adopted by the Board of Directors;

Facilitate a collaborative style within the staff; Supervise, mentor and lead the ministry and support staff;

Recommend ministry staff appointments or dismissals to the Board of Directors in collaboration with the Personnel Committee; Hire or dismiss support (office) staff within the limitations of the budget;

Be the chief administrative officer of ABCCR and act as its primary representative, but commit it only in accordance with policies determined by the voting members or the Board of Directors;

Have the power, subject to the approval of the Board of Directors, to execute on its behalf legal instruments of any nature whatsoever;

Be a member ex-officio (or designate an ex-officio representative) of all councils, commissions, task forces, or other units of ABCCR plus related institutions (Ottawa Univ., Bethel Neighborhood Center, Central Baptist Seminary, Bacone College); and serve as a regional secretary of ABC/USA.

Be responsible for the usual duties of a corporate secretary, including the recording of minutes of meetings of the corporation, the Board of Directors and Executive Committee/Leadership Team and signing official documents;

Be responsible for the duties of a corporate treasurer, having complete reports at the regular meetings of the Board of Directors and submitting all financial accounts for audit annually by a certified public accountant which is designated by vote of the Board of Directors; this also includes being the ultimate overseer of making payments (within the limits of the budget or other expenditures upon the order of the Board of Directors) and the accuracy of recorded receipts and disbursements; actual accounting can be accomplished by staff or contracted services;

Evaluate ministry and office staff annually and present a report of such evaluations to the Personnel Committee at the time of Executive Minister's own evaluation; and

Undertake such other responsibilities as designated by the Board of Directors

Two Lead Religious Education Teachers

First Parish in Lexington, a Unitarian Universalist Congregation, seeks to hire two paid lead teachers for its Primary (Pre-School/Kindergarten/First Grade) and Elementary (Second/Third/Fourth Grades) Clusters. These positions will begin the third week of August, 2007, and continue through the third week of June, 2008. Availability for meetings and planning sessions in June, 2007, is also highly desirable.

General Responsibilities:
* Work under the direct supervision of the Director of Religious Education (DRE)
* Collaborate with the DRE to develop curriculum based on weekly themes
* Plan and lead weekly learning activities for assigned cluster (preschool * 1st graders, or 2nd * 4th graders)
* Lead volunteers in conducting specific cluster activities (preschool * 1st graders, or 2nd * 4th graders) related to curriculum

Youth Group Advisor

First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington MA is looking
for a paid youth group advisor for the 2007- 2008 church year, which
runs from September through June. Our high school group is comprised of
approximately 20 students, who meet weekly on Sunday nights from 7 -
8:30 p.m.

We are looking for an adult over 25 years of age who loves working with
youth, is energetic about empowering teens and supporting them as they
move along their spiritual paths.

The advisor is responsible for organizing and conducting a program
which includes spiritual development, social justice projects, community
building, worship and interfaith activities. Some coordination with
volunteer adult advisors is needed. The advisor reports to the Director
of Religious Education and works approximately 5 - 7 hours per week.

Associate Minister Job Description:
Provide overall leadership in educational ministry, including guidance and resources for all aspects of education in the congregation.


Qualifications
Personal: Commitment to the Christian faith. High energy person with enthusiasm about educational ministry. Must have ability to work with people and to nurture them as persons and as disciples of Jesus Christ.
Professional: Academic training in education and theology, or equivalency through conferences, institutes, courses and workshops. Such training should include work in theology, biblical studies, human development, faith formation and educational theory.
Experience: Volunteer or professional positions in the church and/or experience in teaching, administration and supervision.

Reports to Senior Minister

Specific Duties
Together with the Christian Education and Youth Ministry Team (CEYMT):
Plan and implement quality programs for youth and adults to learn about the Christian faith and to make age-appropriate commitments to live as followers of Christ
Help with the goal setting, organization, teacher recruitment, teacher training and support for the Church School and its related programs especially the Junior High School and High School groups
Manage the nursery and preschool services of the church.
Review, develop, recommend to CEYMT and implement curriculum selected
Prepare and interpret church budget items relating to education
Supervise maintenance of accurate records of all educational activities and church membership rolls
Maintain close contact with groups who use our teaching space during the week, especially the Tot's nursery program.

Together with CEYMT, the Deacons and the Sr. Minister:
Create, plan and implement small groups to explore matters of faith, e.g., intergenerational activities, retreats, seminars, special, creative, "alternative" worship experiences

Work with the Sr. Minister to provide pastoral care to the congregation.
This would include counseling, visitation and worship leadership

Student Needed for Youth Work

Our church is in an interim period and we are looking for a seminary
student to work with our small youth groups and possibly do Vacation
Bible School. The position (which would be a paid position) would
involve working with a small group of children in the elementary grades
and a small group of older youth. We have had established youth groups
for a few years and would like to continue this. I can be reached via

KING\'S CHAPEL

The King's Chapel Church School mission is to provide a religious foundation for Children and Youth while supporting their families in teaching the joy of life that is rich with religious fellowship. We do this through family worship, biblically-based religious education and outreach to the community.

The ideal candidate will like children and enjoy interacting with families, have knowledge of and experience with Church School operations and teaching. Strong computer skills are required and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel Spreadsheet and PageMaker desirable. We seek a team player, with good interpersonal skills who works well with volunteers. A Bachelor\'s Degree or above is required.

The Church School Director works in cooperation with the Church School Committee, reports to the Minister of King's Chapel and has responsibilities in the following areas:

Communication: Responsible for writing weekly emails to parents and monthly articles for newsletters, attends weekly staff meetings to coordinate church school activities with the wider parish. Is a visible presence at parish wide events as a representative from the Church School.

Volunteer training: Hires and supervises child care staff as needed. Recruits, trains and supervises teachers and teacher assistants. Recruits volunteers and oversees parish-wide and Church School events. Substitute teach or teach one grade for the year as needed.

There will be a weekly conference with the Minister to review schedule and activities. The Church School Director will meet monthly with the Church School Committee Chair and the Church School Committee. The Minister will provide an annual performance evaluation for the Church School Director, seeking input from the congregation and other staff.

Administrative: Primary responsibility for development and maintenance of attendance records and data bases. Updates and maintains class lists. Inventories and purchases curriculum and supplies, develops and manages the Church School budget, organizes and prepares for the Early (Intergenerational Worship), creates and updates Church School brochures and calendars. Processes time cards, maintains registrations and orients new families.

The Church School Director is a salaried position of 18 hours per week. Five hours on Sunday mornings (September through May) are required, with the remainder of the schedule to be arranged with the Minister. All candidates will be CORI checked.
Projected start date: July 15, 2007

King\'s Chapel is a Christian church affiliated with the Unitarian Universalist Association. This position is open to liberal Christians from other traditions.
