Choir Director

Choir Director

First-Calvary Baptist Church of North Andover is seeking a part-time choir director . The ideal candidate will have training in choral direction and experience in directing a church choir. Knowledge of both contemporary and traditional church music would be a plus as would the ability to provide occasional instrumental accompaniment.

There are currently two vocal choirs led by the choir director and one hand-bell choir. The two vocal choirs are; the "Cathedral Choir" consisting of between 15-20 adult volunteers, and a youth/teen choir consisting of between 4-10 young people.

Each year the choirs put together a spring concert. Also, during the Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter seasons some "extra" worship services take place at which the choirs usually sing.

During the summer months our choirs are inactive but the choir director is responsible for securing "special" music. Compensation is fair and competitive.

Please send resume with three references and letter of interest.

Intern: Traces of the Trade

Traces of the Trade

"Traces of the Trade: A Story from the Deep North" is a documentary film that uncovers the history of New England's role in slavery through the journey of the filmmaker and her family who are descended from slave traders in Rhode Island. The film is being independently produced for national public television broadcast and for dialogue and action on issues of white privilege and the legacy of slavery. A seminarian would have a significant leadership opportunity to develop programmatic/curricular models for use of the film in congregational settings.
