The Merrimack Valley Project (MVP) is searching for a talented Senior
Organizer to join our staff.

MVP is a 15-year old community organization that unites congregations,
local unions, and community groups in organizing campaigns for social
and economic justice in the Merrimack Valley region of Massachusetts.

The Senior Organizer will work with the MVP Staff Director and Lead
Organizer and a team of talented leaders to advance effective,
broad-based organizing campaigns to improve the quality of life in
Valley communities. MVP addresses racial, ethnic, and economic
segregation through groundbreaking organizing initiatives to increase
economic opportunities and good jobs for low-income residents and new
immigrants, and powerful campaigns to save and create affordable
housing. Last May, MVP leaders voted to make the rights and needs of the
regionÆs more than 115,000 immigrants our top organizing priority for
the coming year.

Responsibilities

ò Recruit and develop leaders from a diverse membership of religious,
labor, and community organizations in the Merrimack Valley, and work
with these leaders to strengthen MVPÆs power.

ò Staff organizing campaigns on economic and social justice issues,
including immigration, jobs and workersÆ rights, affordable housing, and
other issues important to MVPÆs constituency.

ò Work with leaders on local fundraising campaigns and membership dues
collection, supporting the organization in achieving fundraising goals.
Assist with grant writing when needed.

ò Assist with supervision of organizer apprentices, field study
students and interns working with MVP.

ò Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

ò Minimum 3 to 5 years work experience as a community,
congregation-based, or labor organizer.

ò Passion for social and economic justice.

ò Strong commitment to faith- and values-based organizing.

ò Proven ability to mentor leaders and carry out successful issue
campaigns.

ò Appreciation for and ability to work with a broad range of religious
and cultural traditions.

ò Excellent team-building skills, high energy, and strong one-to-one
relationship-building skills.

ò Self-disciplined work habits and excellent communication skills.

ò Experience working with diverse immigrant communities; bilingual
ability in Spanish, Portuguese, French Creole, or Khmer preferred.

Terms of Placement

Competitive salary, commensurate with experience, with excellent
benefits, including 4 weeks paid vacation. Position will remain open

Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church, Salem NH, is seeking a caring and
qualified adult part-time to guide our youth to grow in faith, service,
and knowledge of Jesus Christ and GodÆs grace.
We would like our new director to have a mature faith in Jesus Christ
and a basic understanding and agreement with Lutheran theology. The
Director will plan, organize, and lead youth events and activities for
our congregation. Our youth group includes youth in 6th - 12th grade
with approximately 20 participating on a regular basis. We are looking
for a leader who will not only maintain the current program, but will
have the ability and vision to build upon the foundation, increase
participation, and find new ways to reach out to our youth.
The ideal candidate has experience working with youth, holds a
BachelorÆs degree or equivalent life experience, and is accustomed to
working with churches.
This is a part-time position, averaging 20 hours per week. The work
schedule will fluctuate due to the timing of various events and
activities. The starting salary is based upon experience.

Dighton Community Church is seeking minister for our historical church where Ezra Stiles was our first minister. Present minister wishes to retire because 150 mile ride from Cape is becoming too tiresome. Responsibilities include Sunday service, office hours weekly, flexibility to visit sick and perform funerals as needed, baptisms and weddings at mutual convenience. Must be able to deal with diverse congregation including number of older folks. Growing population of younger families with children in Sunday School.

The core of the church has a strong sense of community. There is an on-going mission to refurbish our historical church; heating system has just been completed, roof is next.
