Primary Position Responsibilities:

The Associate of Discipleship and Family Ministry will provide
leadership and program development in education, social, and
recreational activities for children, youth and young adults while

meet the needs of the congregation; in the absence of the Senior Pastor,

Nature of Work and Scope of Position:

Major Functions

● Affirm and facilitate the basic tenets of faith and policy of
our American Baptist Church.
● Develop and lead the church's Youth Ministry.
● Participate in various worship capacities at the direction of
the Senior Pastor i.e. worship planning, preaching, and worship
leadership.
● Provide leadership in the growth and development of evangelism
and missions.

Specific Responsibilities

● Regularly meet with the Senior Pastor to plan, evaluate, and
coordinate the activities related to the Associate's position.
● Provide accountability to the Board of Christian Education and
the Board of Missions.
● Provide reports of activities at congregational business
meetings and provide an annual report.
● Meet with the Pastoral Relations Committee for quarterly
organizational progress reviews.
● Provide oversight at all education ministries meetings including
but not limited to Wednesday evening programs, Sunday school, social and
recreational activities, and Christian service training.

Challenges:

● Identify, create and implement programs and services where
little precedence had existed.
● Work independently as well as with small and large groups
demonstrating strong teamwork and people skills.
● Demonstrate sensitivity to a very diverse multi-cultural
congregation and develop specific outreach initiatives for their
inclusion in traditional and non-traditional worship services.
● Assist as a change agent with a keen understanding of the change
process to include development, implementation, assessment and
follow-up.

Qualifications

● Prefer an earned undergraduate degree in a related field of
Christian Ministry and/or seminary graduate degree.
● Have a minimum of two years experience in the organization and
development of education programs for a church.
● Ability to lead, motivate and empower members in program
continuity.
● Possess strong people skills and utilize excellent verbal and
written communication skills.
● Ability to build a team environment.

Working Conditions

The position requires considerable concentration and creativity. As
such the position is subject to stress caused by the demand to
multi-task, adapt to a changing environment, and project a positive
attitude in a diverse multi-cultural workplace.

Part-Time Helper for Elderly Physician Needed

A physician couple who are members of First Baptist Church in Newton
are looking for a caring person to assist the husband, who has moderate
to severe Alzheimer's disease, and his non-disabled wife in making
trips to restaurants, parks, etc. as a morale booster for the gentleman,
who has just begun living in a nursing home.

Tasks involve wheelchair pushing (gentleman is 6 foot 4, 280 pounds),
assistance with automated wheelchair van (training provided), assisting
the gentleman with walking (providing steadying support, walking
immediately behind with wheelchair, etc.) and sometimes just keeping him
company. Occasional brief periods of 1:1 supervision while the
gentleman's wife goes to fetch the van from its parking spot, etc.

Offering $15-20 per hour commensurate with age and experience.

Schedule is flexible depending on availability, but hoping to find
someone primarily on weekends for roughly 6-9 hours per week, i.e., 4-7
pm Friday and 10 am-1 pm Saturday OR 10 am -1 pm Friday and 4-7 pm
Saturday, both with occasional Sunday hours. Looking for an ongoing
commitment.

The nursing home is in Needham, MA. Most trips would take place around
Needham, Newton, and other neighboring areas.

Position Summary:
The Director of the MBS Media Center will be the inaugural
leader of a state-of-the-art facility and program based in the new
Wilson Chapel on the Andover Newton campus. The Director will oversee
the development of the array of equipment and technology to advance an
innovative program of audio/visual and web-based resources for the
seminary and its partners. In addition the Director will work with the
Academic Dean and the faculty to enhance teaching and nurture the media
communications capabilities of Andover Newton students. Development of
CD's, DVD's, video, web-based applications, and broadcast ready

First United Parish of Everett, MA is a small UCC/UM
congregation seeking to begin a Junior Church/Sunday School program this
Fall for our younger members (ages 4-12). We are seeking a dedicated,
enthusiastic person of strong faith and a love of children to help
develop and lead this program, using the Seasons of the Spirit Multiage
curriculum, under the direction of the Pastor and assisted by a member
of the congregation. While initially there may only be 4-5 children, we
are hopeful that more families with children will be invited by the Holy
Spirit to join with us through the offering of this program.
This position will entail 6-10 hours per week including Sunday
morning from 9:30 AM - Noon minimum (worship is at 10 AM, and the Junior
Church/Sunday School program - approx 1 to 1 ½ hrs long - will begin
following the Children's Message); attendance at the monthly Parish
Council meeting; meeting 1:1 with the Pastor at least monthly; and
helping to plan and facilitate special programs involving the children.
If desired, helping to plan/lead worship and preaching occasionally
could also be incorporated into the position. A Cory background check
will be required. Stipend is $10 per hour plus reimbursement for travel

Second Congregational Society UU is a thriving congregation in
beautiful Southern New Hampshire with 270 members, an average Sunday
morning attendance of 126; 79 children registered in the Religious
Education Program, and 50 attending, on average.

We are looking for a Unitarian Universalist to provide professional
leadership for our Religious Education Program for children and youth.
This is a half-time position: 20 hours or 6 units, to include Sunday
mornings). The position is responsible to the Prudential Committee
(governing board) with direct oversight by the minister and program
support and review by the Religious Education Committee.

Responsibilities:
With the support of the Religious Education Committee,
● Recruit, orient, and support volunteers
● Plan and coordinate curriculum

Compensation:
Salary: $18,598 annually, paid bi-weekly, September - June (22
pay days per year)
Benefits:
● The Religious Educator is paid for 44 weeks (880 hours) per
year. Eight weeks of unpaid time off is taken during the summer.
● 4 hours of paid leave for each holiday listed in the Personnel
Manual that falls during September to June (9 holidays).
● 50% of health insurance premiums paid by church.
● 50% of deductible and coinsurance paid by the church, up to
$1,000 annually. Such reimbursements are considered taxable income and
the church will withhold taxes as required by law. Co-pays for office
visits are not eligible for reimbursement.
● $100 in mileage reimbursement
● $500 in professional development reimbursements.

Christian education. Recommend curriculum that is consistent with our
Presbyterian tradition.
Provide staff leadership for the Christian Education program. Recruit,
train and recognize volunteers.
Develop and direct weekly Youth Fellowship programs. Oversee youth
trips which may include making arrangements and encouraging adult
sponsorship.
Provide leadership in the area of long-range planning for the growth
and transition of the ministry programs.
Participate in worship as directed by the Pastor, as Head of Staff, by
coordinating and/or preparing of Children's Lessons.

Requires a BA in Education with one or two years of related experience
adn/or training in Christian Education.

If you desire hands-on experience serving a population in need, enjoy
working with congregational volunteers, and are friendly and
compassionate, then the Tuesday Meals Program at the First Parish in
Cambridge (Unitarian Universalist) may have the position you are
seeking.
Every Tuesday night for the last 17 years a free meal for any and all
has been served at First Parish. The Tuesday Meals Program Coordinator
is responsible for ensuring that program preparation and implementation
is effectively accomplished each week by acting as a "hands-on"
participant with a team of volunteers in the preparation and serving of
food, and by representing First Parish with program guests. Further
responsibilities include recruiting, training and coordinating
volunteers, monitoring the program budget and aiding the Tuesday Meals
Steering Committee in the raising of funds to support the program. The
Coordinator acts as liaison to sponsors, community groups and local
businesses, and to the congregation of First Parish regarding
volunteers, donations, and fund-raising. Occasional shopping trips are
necessary. Access to a vehicle and a willingness to drive are highly
desirable. The position is supervised by the Senior Minister of First
Parish. 10-12 hours per!
week, including Tuesday mornings and evenings. Salary is competitive.
