Job Title: Associate Pastor for Congregational Care
Job Descripton: Thriving 2600 member Presbyterian church searching for 3rd pastor to round out this dynamic ministry team! With the additional help of a Parish Associate, 3 music ministers, and 3 talented lay ministers, God is doing wonderful things in Toms River, NJ.
This new Associate will:
* Help educate and lead staff, leaders and members to become an extraordinary community of care.
* Exercise a ministry of counseling and holy discernment; coming alongside and guiding individuals in distress, loss and confusion.
* Equip members and leaders for pastoral care, mobilizing community resources for the tasks of healing and encouragement.
* Teach the elements of Christan care and understanding to raise the collective "care IQ".
* Support and mentor our Stephen Ministers, Deacons, and Ambassadors.
* Add a new voice to our preaching and teaching ministry and a new preence in our ministry team.
* Enhance our efforts in congregation visitation.
* Serve as on-call pastor.
* Lead worship and administer the Sacraments.

* Be a spiritualguide who is energized to see others grow in devlition to Jesus Christ.
* Be an architect who can integrate and enhance the existing structure of our partoral care effots
* Be a student of sanctification who has significant training in spiritual development, pastoral care and counseling.
* Be an equipper who can prepare and inspire others to invest time and talents in ministries of care.
* Be a minister or ordainable candidate with a M.Div. or equivalent.
Located near the beautiful ocean beaches and boardwalks of NJ, equidistant from New York and Philadelphia,we are both a recreation mecca, and home to one of the largest retirement populations, while at the same time having one of the state's largest school systems. We are a church in the Reformed tradition that seeks to be faithful to Scripture and the confessions while being innovative in ministry and mission.
