Ministerial leader

Job Title: Ministerial leader
Job Descripton: We seek a ministerial leader who will be, first and foremost, a dynamic, energetic spiritual leader, skilled at leading worship and presenting engaging sermons two to three times a month. The Sunday morning experience is a key element in church life, as our members seek grounding and inspiration from the worship service. We would like our Sunday services to focus on the celebration of life and to bridge the differences in theological beliefs that exist within the congregation. Intellectual and spiritual leadership were rated highly as ministerial virtues in our congregational survey. We seek a ministerial leader who will interact with our community and with the wider community along with us through our social justice and environmental ministries, as well as through other opportunities for community interaction. We envision an enthusiastic leader who will help us grow the congregation through community engagement, supporting the religious education program, and encouraging volunteers and lay leadership. 28 of 35 respondents to the Congregational Survey rated "caring for and counseling individuals" as "most" or "very" important when rating ministerial responsibilities. No respondents said this was not important. We would expect our ministerial leader to care for and comfort our members when they are in need, and to be available at regularly scheduled office hours at least once a week. The leader we seek will need to be cognizant of the time constraints inherent in this part-time position and be able to balance the care and counseling needs of members with other ministerial duties.
