Corporate to fundraising in a non-sectarian Christian NFP?

Are you ready to explore how your corporate skills in sales, new
business, marketing, relationship building, investor relations, or
public affairs, etc. may translate to fundraising for a foundation
committed to Christian faith-based initiatives?

Have you been involved in launching new projects, and "being the
change" you wanted to see in organizations you've worked in? And are
you now at a point where meeting people, building relationships, and
helping others meet their goals means more to you than maybe it did in
the past?

We are looking for a Major Gifts Officer who can join an existing team
with existing relationships that have been supportive for decades, and
create new ones in new age groups to sustain the future of an innovative
and leading faith-based charity in a non-sectarian Christian
environment.

You won't have to work alone. The foundation has tens of thousands of
relationships with prospects through an important affiliate. The job
requires all the things a Major Gift officer does, as well as an ability
to read the databases and identify the people who will be the support
into the future. The best part is, the client is willing to go outside
the box to find someone who has passion, interest in this unique mission
and demonstrated skills that are similar to the ones required for Major
Gifts.

This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who wants to align their
work with their faith, or otherwise, value-system.

The job is located in Putnam County, NY and would require up to 50%
travel to US destinations (the usual places for wealthy people).

Please send your resume to careerfocusco@gmail.com, and we can start a
dialogue to see if there may be a fit for this unique opportunity.

About the 200th anniversary of the American Board of Commissioners for
Foreign Mission: On a Saturday afternoon in August, 1806, five Williams
College students, Congregationalists in background, gathered in a field
to discuss the spiritual needs of those living in Asian countries. When
a thunderstorm arose they took shelter in the lee of a haystack and
continued to pray. This gathering came to be called "The Haystack Prayer
Meeting," launching the modern mission movement. The American Board of
Commissioners for Foreign Missions (ABCFM) was formed in 1810 and sent
some of the first American Protestant missionaries to other lands. A
timeline of mission involvement by the UCC is outlined here:
http://globalministries.org/resources/mission-study/what-is-haystack/haystack_timeline/timeline-of-mission.html

The World Missionary Conference of 1910 held in Edinburgh is
celebrating its 100th anniversary also in 2010. This initiative is
proving to be suggestive for many people seeking direction for Christian
mission in the 21st century. Representatives of many different strands
of mission and church life will join in creative ways to find new
perspectives on mission today.
