Beyond the Walls of Our Congregations: Nick Carter and Bill Sinkford on community ministry
7:00 pm
Location: Wilson Chapel
Contact: Rev. Maddie Sifantus, 508-358-7091, maddie@maddiesifantus.com
This program on community ministry will feature a dialogue between Andover Newton President Nick Carter and Bill Sinkford, former president of the Unitarian Universalist Association.
Community ministry takes place beyond the walls of churches and congregations. In some faith communities, community ministry is called public ministry, outreach ministry, ministry at large, the larger ministry, missionary work, social action ministry and more. Community ministry is all about “border crossing,” according to event organizer Rev. Maddie Sifantus.
Free and open to the public. A reception will follow. This event will also be webcast live (see below).
Sponsored by Andover Newton, the Unitarian Universalist Urban Ministry, the Unitarian Universalist Community of Andover Newton Theological School (UUCANS), and the Unitarian Universalist Society for Community Ministries.

The United Church of Christ (UCC) invites all students to join the Andover Newton UCC Fellowship in welcoming Rev. Karen Georgia Thompson for a conversation about race and the church.
Rev. Thompson will lead us in this conversation: How can the Church remain relevant in the dialogue on race? Can the Church be a place for effective leadership to bring about change in this 21st century context? The event is open to all, free of charge. It is for anyone who may feel uncomfortable talking about race at church, school, work, or home.

Masters of Arts Programs Information Session
10:00 am
Location: Wilson Chapel
Contact: Margaret Carroll, 617-831-2430, admissions@ants.edu
Have you been considering applying to Theological School at the Master’s level, but unsure of which of the Master of Arts programs would be best for you, given your interests?
Are you looking for the kind of reading, study and discourse that will challenge you and give you the knowledge to actively contribute to discussions about major issues in civic/religious life? Are you interested in preparing for a church vocation? Or are you interested in focusing your study and preparing for further graduate work beyond the MA, such as a PhD?
Students pursue Master of Arts degrees at Andover Newton for many purposes: to deepen theological or spiritual dimensions of their current professions, for personal enrichment, to explore spiritual, vocational, or religious issues; and/or to prepare for ministries within or related to churches that do not require practical specialization or ordination.
Please join us for an Information Session focusing on the Master of Arts program and Admissions process. We will introduce you to key faculty, current students and/or alums; provide a campus tour if you haven’t been here before; and explain the MA Admissions process.
To register for the Masters of Arts Programs Information Session, please click on the yellow square. Registration is free and lunch is included.
