Ministers can hope ministry will involve extending benevolence and care for people, to which they will respond with joy and gratitude. Often that happens. But other times people’s bile can be an unwelcome surprise. What then?

Difficult behavior occurs. It contributes to unhappy congregations and to ministers losing their jobs.  This workshop aims to support ministers in handling difficult behavior, complaint,  and criticism in ways that enhance the health of the minister and of the congregation.

Women’s Retreat: “Daughter, Your Faith Has Made You Well”

An upcoming retreat offers women a time of rest, reflection, and renewal, combining a healing narrative with yoga practice and a look at the stories of women healed by Jesus as related in the gospels.

The two-day event, titled “Daughter, Your Faith Has Made You Well: Healing Body and Soul,” will be held from 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, through 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at The Gathering Inn in Hubbardston, Mass.

Register at www.gatheringinn.org by Oct. 1 for the early bird special of $290 per person. Registration after Oct. 1 is $325 per person. Andover Newton alumna the Rev. Cindy Maybeck and Sue Medeiros are co-leaders for the retreat.
