Location: Stoddard Hall
Andover Newton Theological School and the Safe Havens Interfaith Partnership Against Domestic Violence will host a screening of What’s Love Got to Do With It?, a film based on the true story of how singer Tina Turner overcame abuse to become one of the most popular, exciting, and energetic performers in the world.
The event will be held Thursday, April 3, at 7 p.m. in Stoddard Hall. After the viewing, you are invited to participate in a discussion of intimate partner violence and how faith communities can be prepared to respond to victims and survivors and domestic violence. The post-film discussion will be moderated by the Rev. Gary Adams, Special Liaison for Faith-Based & Community Partnerships for the Boston Police Department and Associate Minister at Morning Star Baptist Church of Boston; and Dr. Nancy Nienhuis, Professor, Dean of Students, and Vice President for Strategic Initiatives at Andover Newton Theological School.
