Eat, drink, be merry, and be moved at a special evening exploring our relationship to the sacred texts of Judaism and Islam. Gather at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, for “Sacred Text on Our Tongues,” an event featuring spoken-word performances and presentations by Rosabel Martin-Ross on tajweed, the art of reciting the Qu’ran, and Hazzan Linda Sue Sohn on cantillation, the art of chanting the tanakh (Hebrew Bible).

Light refreshments will be provided. The evening is sponsored by CIRCLE and is part of the series “Voices of Our Sister Scholars: Singing, Speaking, and the Spoken Word.”
