On behalf of the Asociación para la Educación Teológica Hispana (AETH), I would like invite you to attend the upcoming 2nd annual Lecture Series of the Justo L. González Center for Latino/a Ministries. This Lecture Series will take place on October 3-4, 2013, in Newton, Massachusetts, in partnership with Andover Newton Theological School and is centered around the theme of: “The Church and Community Transformation.”

The lectures and workshops will address:

  • The Preparation of leaders for the Latino Church that will encourage them to become agents of change to bring about community transformation.
  • Biblical foundations about the role of the church in tearing down structures that are damaging to our community.
  • How to understand (exegete) a community, define its critical issues and the role the church should play in addressing those issues
  • How to create alternative revenue streams to fund ministry.
  • Keynote speaker: Dr. Juan Martinez, Associate Provost for Diversity and International Programs and Associate Professor of Hispanic Studies and Pastoral Leadership at Fuller Seminary.
  • Workshop leader: Rev. Stan Perea, Executive Director of AETH.

The cost of attending this event is $85 per person. This cost covers: the Thursday, Oct. 3, evening banquet; breakfast on Friday morning, Oct. 4; lecture and workshop at Andover Newton Theological School; and a copy of Justo’s latest book.
