Andover Newton Theological School is closed Tuesday, Jan. 27, and Wednesday, Jan. 28, due to blizzard conditions. An open session of “Introduction to Pastoral Care and Counseling: Finding Hope and Meaning through the Seasons of Loss.”

The course is taught jointly by Andover Newton professor Brita Gill-Austern and Hebrew College professor Daniel Judson.  The guest speaker is Martha Jacobs, an ordained minister and a hospital chaplain. Responding to a need for a comprehensive collection of tools to help both new and seasoned clergy guide congregants and their families through end-of-life issues she gathered her experiences, skills, and insights in the definitive death and dying resource, A Clergy Guide to End-of-Life Issues.

Registration is appreciated, although there is no registration fee. Participants are eligible to receive three Sabbath Hours.
