The Massachusetts Bible Society announces its first Dickinson Conference, to be held Saturday, May 3, from 8 a.m. - 5:15 p.m. at Andover Newton.

Through three sessions of workshops, attendees can learn how the story of Abraham, Sarah, and Hagar is seen in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam; explore modern-day Turkey’s past as the Bible’s “other Holy Land,” Asia Minor; and get advice on enhancing their biblical storytelling skills. And a session track designed for elementary-age children includes stories from Dr. Seuss!

Andover Newton’s own Dr. Nimi Wariboko will teach a session titled “Good Economic Projects Do Not Start With Money: Key Strategy Perspective from Mark 6:30-44,” and Media Center director Bob Craigue will lead sessions on video production, public relations, and social media.

The conference fee is $95 in advance or $110 at the door, and includes lunch. A 15 percent discount is available for students (include school name and ID number), seniors ages 65 and up, groups of four or more, Dickinson Series alumni/ae (include date, location, and facilitator), current Massachusetts Bible Society members, and current members of MBS partner churches.
