What is the federal school code for Andover Newton Theological
School?
It is: G02116.
This six-digit code should be entered on your Free Application for Federal Student
Aid.
When should I apply for financial aid and what are the
deadlines?
New students should apply for aid at the same time you apply for admission. Students do
not need to be accepted to apply for financial aid. For returning students the priority
date is April 15. After April 15 awards will be based on availability of
funds.
Remember: students must re-apply for financial aid every year
Which federal aid programs does ANTS participate in and what are the
eligibility requirements for federal financial aid?
ANTS only participates in the federal Stafford Loan Program. To be
eligible, you must:
* be accepted as a regular student in an eligible degree program for a minimum of 6 credits per semester.
* be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen.
* not be in default on any federal loans or owe a refund of any federal funds.
* complete the annual financial aid process and maintain satisfactory academic progress
What does a completed financial aid application consist of?
For eligibility review, you must file the following forms (within the school
deadlines):
* A completed current year Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
* A completed ANTS Financial Aid Application
* Copy of your current federal tax return These forms combine to make up your complete
financial aid application. Students with incomplete files will be notified if any forms
and/or information are missing and required.
When are the financial aid forms available?
The FAFSA is available each January 1st. The school aid forms are usually available by
February 1 each year.
How long will it take for my Financial Aid Application
to be processed?
After your acceptance and if your financial aid file is complete, you may expect your
Financial Aid Award letter within 7-10 business days. Returning students: awards will be
processed after April 15 and award letters will be mailed out beginning May 1.
I missed the financial aid priority consideration
deadline… can I still apply?
Yes. However, due to limited funds, your late application may only be considered for
Stafford Loans. Please remember that you must apply each year. It is always student
responsibility to get the financial aid forms for the new year and to observe the
deadlines. Students are also encouraged to check the student mailing list for news and
announcements, Student E-News.
Where can I find more information on the KELSEY and
PRESIDENTIAL Scholarships?
Contact the Andover Newton Admissions Office.
Where else can I look for scholarships?
As you complete the financial aid application, also perform a WEB search. The Financial
Office has compiled a list of scholarship WEB sites that might prove helpful. Request
this form from either the Admissions, Financial Aid Office or on the Ants web site.
Students are especially encouraged to seek assistance from the home church and/or association. The Dean of Students may be able to assist you with a specific request.
I believe I have unusual circumstances that the
financial aid forms do not cover… where and how can I explain this?
Include a note of explanation along with supporting documentation with your aid
application that details your situation. Or, call/write the Financial Aid Office. Your
circumstances and note of appeal will be reviewed and given every possible consideration.
