Leanne Tigert is a Fellow of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, and an ordained UCC minister. She served in full- and part-time parish ministry for more than 14 years, and has had a clinical pastoral psychotherapy practice since 1991. Her clinical pastoral work focuses on empowering individuals and families to claim psychological and spiritual health and healing within a context of social liberation.
Rev. Dr. Tigert has also authored four books published by The Pilgrim Press on religion and LGBT issues, along with several published articles on sexuality, religion, and the UCC. At present she is working on a book about the psychological and spiritual demands on nontraditional family caregiving. She has been a Lambda Literary Finalist and the recipient of the Mayflower Award for social justice given by the Pilgrim Press.
