Kathy Windsor has a long-standing interest in the intersection of teaching, counseling and ministry. Credentialed to teach in secondary schools, she served as a supervisor of student teachers at the Lynch School of Boston College. In her graduate work she specialized in counseling adults and adolescents and in pastoral ministry. She sees Field Education and Supervision as offering a context in which to continue her development as an integrated educator.
An active laywoman in the Episcopal Church, she has served as chair of the Clergy Family Network, a group that lends support and counsel to families of ordained ministers. She has envisioned and taught a number of curricula designed for both adolescents and adults. She is a strong proponent of the empowerment of the laity and for the sharing of authority in the church. To this end, she co-leads workshops that train laypersons to guide seminarians during their educations at Andover Newton.
Involved in community outreach, she has served on numerous boards for both profit and not-for-profit organizations including schools, social justice agencies, ministries and publicly traded companies.
