Demographics: a 13 apartment complex, there are 2 one-bedroom apartments, and 11 two-bedroom apartments, some configured on one floor, and some are on two floors. The one-bedroom apartments have a kitchen, living room bedroom and full bath. The one-bedroom apartments are for 2 people. The two-bedroom apartments have a living/dining area, kitchen, full bath, and two bedrooms. The two-bedroom apartments are generally reserved for families with no more than 2 children, maximum 4 people. There are storage and laundry facilities on the lower level of the complex and a small study area for students. There is no smoking in this or any other ANTS residence.

The square footage for these apartment is:

One bedroom - 390 sq. ft.
Two bedroom split - 740 sq. ft.
Two bedroom flat - 770 sq. ft.

The apartments have tiled floors. No carpeting is provided by the school. The apartments are rented with stove and refrigerator. There are no automatic dishwashers in the units Utilities (heat, hot water, electricity) are included in the rental price.

Housing Views: Herrick House

These are views of Herrick House. All Herrick House apartments are furnished with gas stoves, refrigerators and sink disposals. All of Herrick House's living areas are spacious and airy. An abundance of large windows enhance the open feeling of the apartments.

Campus Mail Box:: Your Herrick apartment number is your street address, however; every Herrick House resident is also required to have a campus mail box number. Campus mailboxes are assigned by the Housing Office, ext. 2453.

Parking: Convenient parking is available in front of the residence hall. Parking stickers must be obtained from the Buildings and Grounds office.

Residence representatives: Your residence hall has a student representative who will serve as your liaison to the Buildings and Grounds, the Dean of Students, etc. It is appropriate for you to bring questions and concerns to him/her, and he/she will share information with you at residence hall meetings and in printed materials. Study and play/toy storage rooms: In the basement is a small study room and a playroom/large toy storage room. Both can be accessed by your apartment key.

Storage: Your residence has limited storage space in the basement, accessed by your apartment key. This space is not to be used for furniture or appliances, but can store rarely used items such as seasonal clothing. Clearly label all items you place in storage and keep them together in your area. When you move from the residence please be sure to take all your stored items with you.

Washers and dryers: All residence halls have coin-operated washers and dryers in the basement. There is also an ironing board and clothesline for resident use in the laundry room.

Telephones: Every apartment has a phone jack for a private land line. Contact Verizon (1-800-870-9999) as soon as possible for installation.

Cable television: Apartments are cable-ready. It is the responsibility of the resident to contact Comcast and arrange for service and payment.

Please note: Prior to assignment to a new resident, each apartment is painted and refurbished to school standards by the Buildings & Grounds Department. Residents cannot paint or wallpaper apartments. In addition, it is stated in "General Regulations" of the Housing Policy: "Nails and/or screws must not be used on walls or woodwork. Stickers, masking tape or scotch tape should not be used." Residents will be charged ($25.00 per hole) for damage to walls to cover the cost required to patch holes and prepare walls for repainting.

Full-time ANTS residents in these apartments must subscribe to any one of the various board plan options.

No refunds can be made for absences from the campus during periods in the school year when classes are not in session.

Apartments in Kendall, Fuller and Herrick House are unfurnished, except for stoves and refrigerators. Students may request copies of the Andover Newton Housing Policy from the Student Housing Office or print one online at: http://www.ants.edu/pdf/housingpolicies.pdf
