Members of the Andover Newton Community have responed to recent attacks on Islam and protests directed at American Muslims.
CIRCLE Managing Director Dr. Jennifer Peace has prepared a statement, ”An Interfaith Educator Responds to the Mosque Controversy,” about the proposed Islamic Community Center in New York City.
Andover Newton President Rev. Dr. Nick Carter and other faculty and staff have helped prepare a petition from Massachusetts Interfaith Leaders, ”To Bigotry, No Sanction; to Persecution, No Assistance,” presented on-line and at the Interfaith Press ConferenceMassachusetts State House in Boston on September 7, 2010 (see video below). At the State House presentation, Dr. Carter issued a statement, “To Seek the Divine in All I Meet.”
