Artist Pamela Chatterton-Purdy returns to Andover Newton for a new Meetinghouse gallery exhibit, “Icons of 9/11”. She painted her series a year after the terrorist attack upon the United States on September 11, 2001. These Icons represent her effort to make sense out of what most of humanity recognized as a senseless, shameful act. The “Icons of 9/11” attempt to reconstruct the world by depicting ways in which she affirms the power of God’s transforming Spirit at work in the midst of the physical and psychic chaos.
The exhibit will be up in the Meetinghouse gallery from September 1 – November 30.
