2017-18 Field Education Schedule

The Field Education experience at Andover Newton begins with the student attending a Field Education Orientation Session where they are introduced to what will happen during their field ed experience. 2017-18 academic year orientations will be held at the beginning of the academic year.

The recommended start date for the student’s first day in their site is the Sunday after classes begin in September, typically the third Sunday of the month. For the 2017-2018 academic year, the recommended start date is September 17, 2017. On October 11, all field education students, supervisors, and Teaching Parish/Site Committee members are invited to a brunch and a commissioning for the students doing field education that year.

Students continue at their sites through the fall, winter and spring breaks, concluding in early May with the recommended last day in site being the second Sunday of May. Students do get three weeks of vacation during the course of the year, with the timing worked out between the student, supervisor, and committee.
