Alumni/ae Association

The Alumni/ae Association of Andover Newton consists of all graduates of the school and all others who have taken at least ten credit hours before leaving Andover Newton (or one of its predecessor schools). The governing body of the Association is the annual meeting that, in recent years, has convened during Spring Convocation in the month of May. At this meeting, the Association elects four of its members to serve a three-year term on the Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors consists of twelve members elected by the Association. No director may serve more than two consecutive terms. In addition to these elected members, there are also five ex-officio members: The President, Academic Dean, Vice President for Development, Dean of Students and Director of Alumni/ae & Church Relations. The Board of Directors elects its own officers from among the twelve elected members. These include a President, Vice-President, Clerk and Necrologist.

The stated purpose of the Alumni/ae Association is to promote fellowship among the alumni/ae of the School. In addition, the Association is charged with helping the School in the areas of recruitment, continuing education and fundraising.

As the Board of Directors carries out its duties it seeks to build relationships with all of the Andover Newton constituency. The board members represent you, the alumni/ae of Andover Newton. If you have suggestions for ways in which we can strengthen our relationship with you please share them with us. We also place a focus on building relationships with the future alums, the current student body. We strive to be more visible when we are on campus - whether while eating with them in the cafeteria or worshiping with them during chapel times.

We provide time during our board meetings for the ex-officio members to be heard. We rejoice as we become better acquainted with this leadership team at ANTS. Their participation helps keep us abreast of what is happening on the hill. We also have an ear to what is happening behind the scenes as the President or designee attends the regular meetings of the Board of Trustees.

Your Board of Directors is working for you. Let your voice be heard. Help us build relationships here on the hill and to our wider constituency wherever you may be serving out your call to ministry.
