Stipend Expectation

This site meets the stipend expectation

Student Involvement

Field education students are welcome to participate in many aspects of the Hills Church community, including pastoral care, preaching and worship, church administration and planning, and religious education and spiritual development. Projects might include leadership in adult study groups, participation in church school programs, and in worship and program development. Specific church projects include: serving area homeless families through our participation in the Family Promise Network, our partnerships with Grace House in Framingham, Habitat for Humanity, and the Woods-Mullen Shelter, assistance to area low-income residents, and our mission among the Siddis in south India.

Commitment to Educating Ministers

The ministerial student will meet with the supervisor and the Teaching Parish Committee to develop the placement description to fit the student’s talents and interests and the church’s needs. The Hills Church has provided field education experience for seminarians for 20 years, and the staff and congregation are very comfortable with and eager to welcome students. The experienced and long-standing Teaching Parish Committee is committed to helping students craft a Learning Agreement that meets their educational needs, first and foremost. The site's supervisor, the Reverend Doctor Pashington Obeng, is a renowned and beloved teacher and mentor.
