Evangelical Fellowship
How can we be both evangelical AND progressive?! Can you be both theologically progressive and evangelical? Why would we want to? How do we reconcile being evangelical with our progressive theology?
We are dialoguing about these challenges. We are Baptists, United Church of Christ folks and others who are struggling with how to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. We have principles that are foundational to our understanding and sharing of the Gospel.
We are looking to denominational leaders and others for guidance. Those leaders include these two and many others:
Rev. Dr. Liliana Da Valle, Executive Minister, American Baptist Churches of Rhode Island.
Rev. Alan Newton, Executive Minister, American Baptist Churches of Rochester-Genesee.
They say that they are both progressive and evangelical. We are exploring how they and others do that.
